Tara Trethewey

With an Undergraduate Degree in Human Kinetics, Tara went on to complete her Masters of Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2009. Tara started her OT career working in both public and private vocational rehabilitation programs for clients with mental illness, orthopedic injuries and chronic pain. She joined the JR Rehab team with a year of community-based rehabilitation experience, including brain injury rehab, in February 2012. What she loves most about her job is supporting her clients’ recovery from hospital discharge to return to work. Dedicated to client-centered care and professional development, she has completed educational courses in the areas of customized employment, chronic pain management, ergonomics, mental health and addictions, brain injury rehab, and seating and positioning. For fun, Tara enjoys cycling, running, traveling, hiking and teaching spin classes at her local YMCA.

My Rehab Philosophy:
I believe that people are innately motivated and engaged when they find meaning in an activity or process. I strive to collaborate with my clients to uncover their personal values and goals to develop an evidence-based rehabilitation program that promotes client satisfaction, functional restoration, independence, and overall well being.
