Alexia Baptista

Alexia has worked as a behavioral  interventionist and shadowed an OT. She is interested in providing a safe and fun environment for active rehabilitation by providing client education and client-centered sessions. Other interests include the mind-body connection and how strengthening our mental health is just as important as our physical health.

She loves staying active via hikes, weight-lifting and spin classes.

Carlene Garcia

Carlene graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Psychology and has a Certificate in Fitness and Health from Simon Fraser University. Carlene joined the JR Rehab team September 2016. Carlene has been working in the fitness industry for 10 years from teaching group fitness classes to personal training clients that are in pain. Her active rehab specializations include the gym and pool settings with a variety of clients. Carlene is very active in the gym and likes to try new hikes. She works with hockey teams, being their trainer during games and strength trainer off the ice. Her other interests include learning about her field, traveling, coaching diving & being around the pool, camping and trying new things.

Casey Page

Casey graduated with a Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia with a special interest in active rehabilitation and injury prevention. She joined the JR Rehab team in April 2017 and will be primarily covering the Vancouver region. Casey strongly believes in the importance of designing personalized rehab programs concentrated on the client’s specific injuries and goals. She enjoys expanding her practical skills and knowledge by constantly learning new treatment methods and techniques to further benefit her clients. Casey has spent the past two seasons as a volunteer snowboard instructor for individuals with disabilities and thoroughly enjoys helping people overcome barriers to physical activity. In her spare time, Casey can be found outside playing soccer, volleyball, tennis, or on the mountain hiking or snowboarding.

David has over 10 years of personal training and corporate health experience and over 4 years of group fitness experience. He also has  life long experience in various team sports: hockey, lacrosse, softball and individual sports: golf, skiing, martial arts

Deo Madrazo

Deo graduated with a Bachelor in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia. He joined the JR Rehab team in August 2016. His primary region covered is the Vancouver area. Deo’s previous experience includes his time as an exercise leader for older adults with the UBC GOAL Exercise Program. He also spent time leading and developing physical activity programming for youth and adolescents. His experiences, passion for exercise and physical activity, and lifelong participation in team sports, have been the catalyst for his career in active rehabilitation. Deo relishes all aspects of rehabilitation, ranging from resistance training, fitness programs, and aqua therapy. He believes in a client centered approach and co-involvement between the client and the health professional. Deo is constantly learning new techniques and continuing his education in active rehabilitation science to further benefit his clients. During his spare time, you can find Deo playing basketball, football, golf, tennis, cycling and snowboarding.

Gurinder Dosanjh

Gurinder graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor in Kinesiology in 2015. He joined the JR Rehab team in February 2016. He enjoys all aspects of rehabilitation varying form gym based programs to aqua therapy. He enjoys prescribing and directing specific exercise programs in the pursuit of helping a client reach their goals. He believes in constantly learning and bettering himself so aspires to learn about new treatment methods and philosophies to further aide his clients. Some of his interests include playing sports, hiking, jogging and reading.

Hannah Jiwani

Hannah has experience shadowing an Occupational Therapist at Kaigo Senior Living Community, assisting in the walking program and exercise classes for the older adults, with a passion for helping the geriatric population remain active and maintain their quality of life.

She also loves sports – Basketball and Soccer in particular.

Harleen Kaur

Harleen finished her Kinesiology degree from Simon Fraser University in 2018 with concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation. Prior to finishing school, she spent time volunteering and working as Student Kinesiologist liaising with disabilities ranging from short term to long term. From the beginning, Harleen had believed in working with mind and body. Hence, she likes to train in a way that involves them in the holistically and maximizes their physical, emotional and functional capacity.

Jason Hotell

Jason is a practicing Kinesiologist who graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University College of the Fraser Valley and has been working as a Kinesiologist for over 9 years.  He has also completed a Fitness and Exercise Management Diploma from University College of the Fraser Valley.  Jason enjoys providing injury rehabilitation services to clients in their home and community, as well as aqua therapy and community access.  When not assisting clients, you can find Jason spending time with his family, skiing, and playing baseball and golf.

Jeevan Bhogal

Jeevan has an exercise and clinical rehab experience working with UFV athletics program, both in an individual and team settings.

His interests include: weight training, sports, and continuing to study and expand knowledge both in rehabilitation and exercise science.
