Laine Dawes
Type: Occupational Therapists
After completing her B.Sc in Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University, Laine then went on to complete her Master’s in Occupational Therapy, at the top of her class, at the University of British Columbia. She has been working as an OT for 1 year and takes a special interest in chronic pain management. Laine specializes in adapted activities of daily living and physical conditioning, cognitive rehabilitation, pain management, hospital discharge planning and geriatrics. In her spare time she enjoys the arts and culture of the city and decorating her new home!
Maureen Woodward
Type: Occupational Therapists
Maureen has been a practicing OT since 2005 after graduating from UBC.
She has a special interest in working with individuals with TBI and specializes in cognitive rehabilitation therapy, adapted activities of daily living in the home, community, and work, return to work planning, ergonomic assessments, stress and pain management, AMPS, and Assessment of Functional Cognition. When she’s not working she keeps active with cycling, rowing, gardening, traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Jason Hotell
Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists
Jason is a practicing Kinesiologist who graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University College of the Fraser Valley in 2003. He has also completed a Fitness and Exercise Management Diploma from University College of the Fraser Valley. Jason enjoys providing injury rehabilitation services to clients in their home and community, as well as aqua therapy and community access. When not assisting clients, you can find Jason spending time with his family, skiing, and playing baseball and golf.
Nikki Tan
Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists
Nikki graduated from Simon Fraser University in 2008 and has been a practicing Kinesiologist for 3 years. She enjoys helping people adopt a healthy and active lifestyle, and educating others about how the human body works. For Nikki, Kinesiology provides a variety of areas to practice in, which keeps it interesting. She specializes in fitness programs, community access and integration, and cognitive retraining. One of her favorite hobbies is healthy eating; she enjoys cooking, baking and trying new ethnic foods. She stays active by hiking, rock climbing, and exploring different sports and exercising at the gym.
Sarah Clarke
Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists
Sarah graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She enjoys engaging people in physical reactivation programs and educating people about proper biomechanics, muscle balance and nutrition, as well as assisting clients in goal setting and achievement whether physical or lifestyle related. She also likes to assist people in regaining independence and access to the community. Sarah loves to travel, spend time outdoors, run, swim, hike and soak up the sun. Yoga and reading are her favorite relaxing activities.
Tyler Willson
Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists
Tyler has been working as a Kinesiologist for 2 years since graduating from the University of British Columbia. He enjoys all aspects of Kinesiology, as it brings diversity to his job, which is important to him. He specializes in gym-based programs, as that is where the majority of his education and personal experience lies. He is also versed in fitness/aquatherapy programs, community access and integration, as well as cognitive retraining. Tyler enjoys playing sports, specifically baseball as well as participating in endurance competitions and weight/cardiovascular training. In his spare time he also enjoys reading, watching movies and playing with his dog.
Jas Hayre
Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists
Jas has been a practicing Kinesiologist since 2011, graduating with his Bachelor of Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley. Jas has also completed a Sports Science diploma through Douglas College and specializes in muscle balancing, aqua therapy, isometric resistance training, corrective kinetics and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation. Jas enjoys swimming, basketball, football, traveling and spending time with his family.
Kevin Loades
Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists
JR Rehab’s RA/Kinesiologist Director, Kevin graduated with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia in 2004 and has been a practicing Kinesiologist for 6 years. He specializes in exercise prescription, cognitive remediation, aquatherapy, work simulation, postural assessments, and community re-integration. Kevin regularly attends rehabilitation courses and is an open water diver. When he’s not working, he keeps active with soccer, softball and biking.
