Kevin Leaker

Type: Occupational Therapists

Kevin graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor’s in Human Kinetics; he then went on to pursue a Master’s in Occupational Therapy at UBC, where he just recently graduated from.  He is excited to begin his new career with JR Rehab and putting forth his expertise in adapted physical conditioning, orthopaedic injury management, return to work planning, adapted activities of daily living and ergonomic assessments.  Kevin keeps active and fills his spare time with soccer, hockey, hiking, snowboarding and mountain biking.

Beth graduated from the University of Waterloo with her Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology and from there went to UBC to study Occupational Therapy.  She has been a practicing OT for 11 years.  In her spare time she enjoys running, cycling, playing soccer and spending time with her two daughters.

Since graduating from the University of Alberta, Byron has been working as an Occupational Therapist for 15 years.  He specializes in case management, traumatic brain injury, orthopaedics, return to work and ergonomics.  In his spare time, Byron enjoys hiking and jogging.

Grace Fong

Type: Occupational Therapists

After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia, Grace attended Queen’s University where she acquired her Master’s in Occupational Therapy.  She has been practicing Occupational Therapy for 1 year with JR Rehab Services.  Grace specializes in cognitive rehab, coaching, assistive technology, return to work, and home and community re-integration. She takes a special interest in low vision rehab and incorporating interdisciplinary collaboration into her work.  When she’s not at work, she enjoys baking, hiking and biking.

Jill Olson

Type: Occupational Therapists

Jill completed her undergraduate degree in Sociology at the University of Victoria and her Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia.  Jill also has a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. With 2 years as a private practice Occupational Therapist, Jill specializes in traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, ergonomics (she was a teaching assistant for the ergonomics module at the UBC MOT program) and workplace wellness education, chronic pain management, chronic illness management and rehabilitation for athletes recovering from injury/illness.  When Jill isn’t working she will likely be baking, running, cycling or reading.  Did we mention she has a Black Belt in Shotokan Karate?

Alice Yang

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Alice graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a minor in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University in 2006.  She is also a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor and has completed an Applied Human Nutrition Certificate. Working as a Rehabilitation Assistant for three years, Alice is particularly interested in nutrition and general physical wellness and enjoys sharing her knowledge and training in these areas with her rehabilitation clients.  When not assisting clients, Alice enjoys playing a variety of sports including volleyball, basketball, tennis, and badminton and she is also interested in real estate development and communications.

Craig Campbell

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Craig completed his Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree at the University of British Columbia in 2010 and the Rehabilitation Assistant Program through Kamloops Vocational Health Sciences in 1997.  Craig has been working as a Rehabilitation Assistant for over six years and as a Personal Trainer for over 10.  He enjoys working with clients with soft tissue injuries and brain injuries and specializes in aquatic and fitness programs.   In his spare time, Craig enjoys mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, running, playing soccer and surfing.

Lori Nishi

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Lori graduated with a Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia and has been a practicing Kinesiologist for 8 years.  Lori is a BCRPA Certified Personal Trainer, Can Fit Pro Personal Training Specialist, BCRPA 2007 Personal Trainer of the Year, and has her Sport First Aid Certificate and Urban Poling Certificate.  She takes a special interest in soft tissue injuries, musculoskeletal rehab, occupational musculoskeletal rehab, brain injuries, aquatic therapy, general fitness, weight loss, bootcamp classes, and educational seminars.  In her spare time she stays very active with ice, ball and floor hockey, beach volleyball, swimming, biking, yoga, as well as knitting, crocheting and reading.

Vianna Soo

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Vianna recently graduated with her Bachelor of Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia and started working with JR Rehab in May 2011.   She is also educated as an Athletic Trainer, Cardiac Rehab Assistant, and Spin Class Instructor.  She enjoys educating her clients about their condition and how physical activity can help and finds that she learns a lot from this process as well.  She specializes in the flexibility/relaxation aspect of physical activity such as yoga and stretching.  Vianna has a special interest in dragon boating, volleyball, basketball, baking and cooking.  She loves to try new activities and particularly enjoys camping, hiking and soaking up some sun at the beach.
