JR at the BC Brain Injury Association Gala

JR Rehab Director Ricardo Nuno, OT Jill Olson, and Kinesiologists Sarah Clarke and Kevin Loades showed their support for those affected by acquired brain injury at BCBIA’s annual fundraising gala at Hycroft Manor.  A great time was had by all and more importantly, this event will make a difference in the lives of those with brain injuries and their families. We hope to see you there next year!

JR goes Urban Poling!

Have you heard of Urban Poling (Nordic walking)?  Apart from the health and fitness aspects of this increasingly popular activity, it’s rehabilitation benefits are extensive and varied!  Whether increasing balance and stability through core activation, promoting cognitive function and coordination, or increasing oxygen consumption, exercising HR, and caloric expenditure, pole walking can assist in recovery from injury or disability.  The staff at JR have recognized the benefits of this activity for our clients and have been certified to provide client instruction and activation programs in this discipline.  Contact us to find out more.
