Kevin completed his undergraduate degree at The University of British Columbia and received his Bachelor of Kinesiology. Kevin has experience working as a Kinesiologist and personal trainer for clinical and aging populations. He is a life-long learner and strives for continuing education to sharpen his skills in helping clients. Kevin also believes that the key to health and wellness is the ability to move freely and confidently. Through individualized exercise prescription and education, Kevin is determined to help clients achieve their goals. Kris Kent

Type: Occupational Therapists

Kris received his undergraduate degree from McMaster University where he majored in Biology. Upon graduation he pursued his passion for helping others through volunteering in Asia and Central America alongside various humanitarian organizations. Kris earned his Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia and has experience working on a multidisciplinary team helping clients with head injuries, traumatic psychological injuries, and chronic pain, overcome physical and psychosocial barriers to return to work. Kris is motivated in helping clients recognize their rehab potential and returning to meaningful occupations in all parts of their lives. When he is not working, you’ll likely find Kris cooking at home, running along the seawall, or hiking one of the local mountains.

Leo Li

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Leo has worked with  older adults with rehabilitation exercises at False Creek Independent Living and shadowed athletic therapists at Simon Fraser University sports medicine clinic to learn to assess, treat and rehab athletes.

Maia Gallant

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Maia graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. As well, she obtained her Masters of Science in Global Health and Public Policy from the University of Edinburgh. Prior to joining the JR team in January 2017, Maia gained experience working in the active rehabilitation community, as well as helping clients reached their personal health and fitness goal through various contract positions. Her work has also included community health programs to engage older adults in their own physical activity and minimize isolation. When not working, Maia enjoys cooking, gardening, snowboarding, cycling, swimming and training for triathlons.

Max Pecarsky

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Max attended Langara College and the University of British Columbia. He has a Bachelors of Kinesiology through UBC and specialized mainly in exercise physiology and athletic training. He joined JR Rehab in August 2017. He aspires to potentially become either an Occupational Therapist or a Physical Therapist. Max believes that physical rehabilitation is not only physical, but mental as well and that motivation and determination are key in order to get a patient back to working strength.

His other interests are; athletics, coaching, and computers.

Sangeeta Dhariwal

Type: Occupational Therapists

Sangeeta completed a Masters of Science in OT at the University of Alberta and has been practicing in the community since.  She has worked in both a return to work setting as well as in a long term care facility. Sangeeta has  a special interest in mental health and recovery, and also really enjoy working with clients who are learning to live and cope with chronic pain.  She is dedicated to professional development and continuing to be a life long learner and has had the opportunity to take courses in chronic pain management as well as attend a few Pain conferences. Sangeeta is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and helping them regain meaning back into their every day lives through occupations.  She is dedicated to working with each individual client and establishing goals and a treatment plan that best suits their respective needs.  In her spare time Sangeeta enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Winni Chou

Type: Occupational Therapists

Winni completed her Bachelor of Psychology and Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia. She joined the JR Team in September 2017 and strives to utilize OT skills of enablement to ethically serve the community in the development of independent, meaningful, and functional living.

Winni has experience with mental health and TBI injuries, as well as physical rehabilitation, chronic pain, and hospital discharges.

In her spare time, Winni can be found trying new recipes, traveling, cuddling her cat, or strumming on her guitar as she pretends to be a rock star.
