Details: The Urban Poling Course for Rehabilitation & Wellness Professionals provides in-depth training for OT, PT, RT, RA, and Wellness coordinators at retirement to LTC homes.You’ll learn how to effectively use the Urban & Activator poles for rehabilitation, individual and group exercise programs. The Activator poles were co-developed by a therapist specifically for youth and adults with chronic conditions, post-surgery and older adults who require more stability and balance when walking.
This 3.5 hour course covers assessment tools and how to modify the technique based on the physical and cognitive limitations of clients. The practical portion includes an overview of assessments, techniques and exercises.
Includes the basic technique for urban poling (Nordic walking) for adults and active older adults recovering from injuries to elite athletes seeking core strengthening.
