Work Ability Evaluation (WAE)
What is a WAE?
The Work Ability Evaluation is a 1/2 day objective assessment of physical tolerances and ability to perform work.
When is it used?
- As an early intervention tool for individuals who are not experiencing typical injury recovery and have not returned to work.
- When rehabilitation has plateaued.
- When Return-to-work program progression is hampered by physical difficulties and pain.
What does the brief summary report provide?
- Current work potential.
- Work abilities and job-demands mismatch.
- Extent of ongoing physical limitations.
- Recommendations for rehab professionals, employers, unions or insurance providers regarding rehab and work readiness planning, and work modification options.
