Aquatic Therapy
Aquatic therapy is performed in water for stretching, cardiovascular and resistance training purposes. As water creates buoyancy, it assists in supporting body weight, making it ideal for those who have reduced weight-bearing capacity due to broken bones, torn ligaments or are in post-surgical recovery. Due to water’s natural ability to provide resistance, a strength-training program without weights can also be performed eliminating the added stress on joints from a typical gym-based weight training program. As the warmth of water assists with relaxation, it is also excellent for stretching.JR Rehab offers the Bad Ragaz Ring Method stretching program.
