Allen Lee

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Allen Lee graduated with a Bachelors of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia in 2018. He joined the JR Rehab team in June 2018. Allen’s experiences include implementing rehabilitative exercises to individuals with challenges that affect their daily living and coaching fundamental movement skills and physical literacy to a young and recreational population. Allen strongly believes that all active rehabilitation programs should be specialized and unique to each individual to help them reach their goals and return to activities that are meaningful to them.

Allen enjoys any activities that requires being active, specifically hikes, badminton, volleyball, and basketball.

In addition to English, Allen is fluent in Cantonese.

Carlene Garcia

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Carlene graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Psychology and has a Certificate in Fitness and Health from Simon Fraser University. Carlene joined the JR Rehab team September 2016. Carlene has been working in the fitness industry for 10 years from teaching group fitness classes to personal training clients that are in pain. Her active rehab specializations include the gym and pool settings with a variety of clients. Carlene is very active in the gym and likes to try new hikes. She works with hockey teams, being their trainer during games and strength trainer off the ice. Her other interests include learning about her field, traveling, coaching diving & being around the pool, camping and trying new things.

Denny Choi

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Denny graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation from Simon Fraser University. He has gained experience in working with all ages from children to seniors providing gross motor improvement, exercise programs, and injury management. When not working, Denny enjoys being outdoors exploring the nearest mountain or indoors catching up on the latest TV show and movies.

Emmeline Chang

Type: Occupational Therapists

Emmeline has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of British Columbia. She went on to pursue Occupational Therapy, which she completed from the University of Western Ontario with a Master’s degree in 2007. Emmeline has a diverse clinical background in orthopaedics and trauma, neurology, return to work services, gerontology, skin integrity management, and mental health. Her special interests are education, cognitive rehabilitation, brain injury, chronic pain management, vocational rehabilitation, as well as home health and accessibility. She has years of experience working in both the public and private sector.

Emmeline values continuing education and evidenced-based practice. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia, Emmeline enjoys teaching students in their fieldwork placements and inspiring them to become excellent therapists. She was awarded a Certificate of Preceptor Recognition to recognize Emmeline’s commitment and contribution to supporting students and new staff while she worked at Vancouver Coastal Health for many years. Outside of work, Emmeline thrives on being outdoors. You can find her hiking, jogging, snowshoeing, travelling, and photographing scenic areas.

Lindsay Bolkowy

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Lindsay graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley. Lindsay enjoys creating personalized programs for her clients based on their injuries and rehabilitation needs, as well as providing education on muscles surrounding injured areas and their functional purpose. Lindsay is passionate about ice hockey and plays competitively.  She also enjoys playing ball hockey, skiing and traveling.

Lindsay Bolkowy

Marli Siebrits

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Marli graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of British Columbia in 2016. She has experience working in a variety of different rehabilitation settings including but not limited to work as a behavioral interventionist, OTA, work in aquatic stroke rehabilitation and research at the Rehab Research Lab at GF Strong. She is currently studying Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia and plans to graduate in 2020. With an undergraduate degree in psychology, she is passionate about understanding the impact of illness and disability on the person as a whole. She is also keen to discover how different activities can be adapted to ensure increased participation and functionality for individuals. In her spare time she enjoys baking, hiking and practicing yoga!
