Allen Lee

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Allen Lee graduated with a Bachelors of Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia in 2018. He joined the JR Rehab team in June 2018. Allen’s experiences include implementing rehabilitative exercises to individuals with challenges that affect their daily living and coaching fundamental movement skills and physical literacy to a young and recreational population. Allen strongly believes that all active rehabilitation programs should be specialized and unique to each individual to help them reach their goals and return to activities that are meaningful to them.

Allen enjoys any activities that requires being active, specifically hikes, badminton, volleyball, and basketball.

In addition to English, Allen is fluent in Cantonese.

Chelsey Herman

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Chelsey graduated with a Bachelor degree in Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2016. She joined the JR rehab team in September 2017. During her time as a student, Chelsey gained experience in the field as a physiotherapist assistant, in the athlete medical clinic at her university, and running physical activity sessions with elementary school children diagnosed with FASD. Since graduating in 2016, Chelsey has been working in the Kinesiology field designing and implementing active rehab programs for both the general and athletic population. Chelsey was a former national level gymnast and is now the head coach for a competitive gymnastics team. She is well educated with the level of fitness that is required for competitive level sports. She also currently instructs group exercise and nutritional sessions to members of the Maple Ridge Stroke Recovery Association. Through all of her experiences, she has learned the benefits of exercise for injury prevention, overall health, and fitness for various ages and abilities.

She believes it is essential to include these three aspects of health within an active rehabilitation plan to provide the client with the most positive outcome. Furthermore, she fosters treating each client as unique in order to provide them with the most successful active rehab plan. In her spare time, Chelsey enjoys yoga, hiking and snowboarding- anything outdoors in nature!

David Robb

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Prior to joining the JR Rehab team, David graduated from CDI College with a diploma in Rehabilitation, he initially split his time working between community rehab working with TBI and stroke clients and working at a senior’s community as an Activity Coordinator. David took time off to travel before returning to the work force with Alberta Health Services at Wainwright Hospital as a member of the Stroke Unit Equivalent Care (SUEC) team, as well as working with acute inpatient hospital rehab, post-op rehab, and acute and chronic injury outpatient rehab. An extremely large sports fan, David volunteers with a Seniors Soccer team as a first aid attendant, as well is an avid Rugby player in the community. David has seen many areas of rehab including as a patient himself needing knee reconstruction to repair torn ACL, MCL, and LCL but through it all it has allowed him to learn and grow and better understand patient needs, emotions, and desires as well as utilize the most effective rehab programs.

Denny Choi

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Denny graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a concentration in Active Health and Rehabilitation from Simon Fraser University. He has gained experience in working with all ages from children to seniors providing gross motor improvement, exercise programs, and injury management. When not working, Denny enjoys being outdoors exploring the nearest mountain or indoors catching up on the latest TV show and movie. In addition to English, Denny also speaks Cantonese.

Jennifer Siwoski

Type: Occupational Therapists

After completing her undergraduate degree in Ottawa, Jennifer spent time working at a women’s shelter in Thailand where she witnessed the benefits of occupational therapy with marginalized populations. Inspired from the benefits of helping people achieve their goals, she pursued her Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia. Passionate about community work, Jennifer also has research experience with those living with mental health difficulties, and with individuals using assistive technology and its benefits. Jennifer believes people have a right to pursue what is meaningful to them, and enabling individuals to pursue this benefits their overall health and quality of life. When Jennifer is not working she is busy trying new restaurants, reading, swimming, working on her photography, baking, or travelling and exploring

Lindsay Bolkowy

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Lindsay graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley. Lindsay enjoys creating personalized programs for her clients based on their injuries and rehabilitation needs, as well as providing education on muscles surrounding injured areas and their functional purpose. Lindsay is passionate about ice hockey and plays competitively.  She also enjoys playing ball hockey, skiing and traveling.
