Amanda grew up in Cambridge, UK and moved to BC in 2006.  She studied Occupational Therapy at Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK, and specializes in acquired brain injuries and orthopaedics.  She keeps active in her spare time throughout the year by training for triathlons.

Emily Cannon

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Emily graduated with her Bachelors of Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley in December 2017 with a major in exercise science and a minor in psychology. Emily joined the JR Rehab team in June 2018. Apart from Emily’s work experience as a fully certified National Lifeguard and Water Safety instructor, she also has extensive volunteer experience in multiple areas of therapy including: physiotherapy, massage, occupational therapy, and personal training. From her own experience with personal and sports related injuries, Emil strongly believes in developing safe and effective rehab programs for her clients, while simultaneously helping to educate her clients along their rehab journey. Her active rehabilitation specializations include working in the gym and pool settings with a variety of clients. Her other interests include teaching swimming lessons, art, traveling, cooking, and sports. Emily continues to grow her knowledge for her field and hopes one day to complete her masters.

Emily Ferguson

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Emily graduated from the University of British Columbia in 2018 with a Bachelor of Kinesiology and joined the JR team in June 2018. During her time at UBC, Emily focused on neuroanatomy, physiology, adapted physical activity, healthy policy, and program development. With a background in competitive swimming and coaching, Emily understands the physical and psychological aspects of athletics, and overall fitness. Emily enjoys expanding her knowledge base both inside the classroom and out, and is always looking for opportunities to put her skills and knowledge to use to help educate others. She understands the importance of client involvement during the rehab process and strives to integrate her clients’ needs and goals into program planning as much as possible. In her spare time, Emily enjoys yoga, swimming, walking her dog, and trying new things.

Gurinder Dosanjh

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Gurinder graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor in Kinesiology in 2015. He joined the JR Rehab team in February 2016. He enjoys all aspects of rehabilitation varying form gym based programs to aqua therapy. He enjoys prescribing and directing specific exercise programs in the pursuit of helping a client reach their goals. He believes in constantly learning and bettering himself so aspires to learn about new treatment methods and philosophies to further aide his clients. Some of his interests include playing sports, hiking, jogging and reading.

Janna Young

Type: Occupational Therapists

Janna completed her degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2004. Janna has worked in a variety of health care settings, including long term care, acute inpatient services and community based services. Throughout her career, Janna has worked and volunteered as an OT internationally. Most recently, Janna has specialized in the area of Mental Health and is passionate about collaborating with clients in their recovery journey. Outside of work, Janna enjoys running, swimming, hiking and spending time with her husband and children.

Klaus Figueiredo

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Klaus graduated with a Bachelor degree in Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley in 2017. He joined the JR rehab team in February 2018. While attending UFV Klaus was also a varsity athlete with the Men’s Basketball Team. During his degree he was involved with the Stroke Recovery Group of Abbotsford as a volunteer and also spent time observing physiotherapy practice. Through school and his experiences, Klaus learned the power of exercise for recovery and maintaining physical health but also for developing important motor pathways that promote cognition. Klaus believes that with a proficient rehabilitation plan, not only can people recover from injury but also prevent injury by training mechanical function and cognition as it relates to exercise. Although Klaus enjoys playing basketball in his spare time, since he spent so many years participating in post secondary athletics, he now enjoys spending time with his friends doing various activities like hiking, snowboarding and also taking time to relax, preferably with a movie on the TV screen.

Lisa Chandra

Type: Physiotherapists

Lisa  received her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta  after obtaining her Bachelor of Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. In addition, Lisa has certificates in acupuncture, nutrition, manual therapy, and spinal manipulation. This combination of specialties and skills  in human physical functions and health gave Lisa a solid background that guarantees high quality of service and support.

Before joining JR team, Lisa has been practicing for nine years in several large physiotherapy clinics. Her experience includes In her spare time,  Lisa enjoys travelling, hiking, running and yoga/Pilates/gyrotonics.

Pablo Chang

Type: Occupational Therapists

Pablo studied Kinesiology at Simon Fraser University for his undergraduate degree, and Queen’s University for his Masters in Occupational Therapy. Pablo’s first area of practice was working to help clients return to their daily activities after have a motor vehicle accident. He has worked closely with clients in an interdisciplinary team to identify and overcome barriers to meaningful engagement in their occupations. Pablo values building therapeutic relationships with clients in order to facilitate a smooth return to the activities that they value.

Pablo has the capacity to complete FCEs and he also has experience with ergonomic assessments. He has experience with TBI injuries, mental health, and physical rehabilitation.

On weekends, Pablo loves to cook, hike, and ride his bike around town.

Sangeeta Dhariwal

Type: Occupational Therapists

Sangeeta completed a Masters of Science in OT at the University of Alberta and has been practicing in the community since.  She has worked in both a return to work setting as well as in a long term care facility. Sangeeta has  a special interest in mental health and recovery, and also really enjoy working with clients who are learning to live and cope with chronic pain.  She is dedicated to professional development and continuing to be a life long learner and has had the opportunity to take courses in chronic pain management as well as attend a few Pain conferences. Sangeeta is passionate about making a difference in the lives of others and helping them regain meaning back into their every day lives through occupations.  She is dedicated to working with each individual client and establishing goals and a treatment plan that best suits their respective needs.  In her spare time Sangeeta enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, the outdoors and spending time with family and friends.

Wendy Tse

Type: Occupational Therapists

Wendy has been practicing occupational therapy for over 25 years. In 2006, she received her certification in Life Care Planning, through the Commission on Health Care Certification.Wendy is involved in committee work with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists, and is a Clinical Instructor with the Department of Occupational Science & Occupational Therapy at UBC.

Wendy provides community based occupational therapy services to clients with brain injuries and orthopaedic conditions. She has considerable experience working in brain injury rehabilitation and chronic pain.  She has a special interest in ergonomics and vocational rehabilitation
