Andrew Wong

Andrew completed his undergraduate degree in Cellular Biology and Genetics at the University of British Columbia and his Masters in Occupational Therapy at the University of Western Ontario. Andrew started his OT career working on a multidisciplinary team helping clients with orthopedic injuries and chronic pain overcome physical and psychosocial barriers to return to work. Having worked on a multidisciplinary team has helped him recognized the importance of taking a holistic approach in recognizing each individual client needs. Andrew is motivated in helping clients recognize their rehab potential and returning to meaningful occupations in all facets of their lives. When he is not working, Andrew stays active going to the gym and playing ice hockey.

Andrew has the capacity to complete FCEs and has experience in many areas such as TBI injuries, physical rehabilitation, and ergonomic assessment

Emmeline Chang

Type: Occupational Therapists

Emmeline has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of British Columbia. She went on to pursue Occupational Therapy, which she completed from the University of Western Ontario with a Master’s degree in 2007. Emmeline has a diverse clinical background in orthopaedics and trauma, neurology, return to work services, gerontology, skin integrity management, and mental health. Her special interests are education, cognitive rehabilitation, brain injury, chronic pain management, vocational rehabilitation, as well as home health and accessibility. She has years of experience working in both the public and private sector.

Emmeline values continuing education and evidenced-based practice. As a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia, Emmeline enjoys teaching students in their fieldwork placements and inspiring them to become excellent therapists. She was awarded a Certificate of Preceptor Recognition to recognize Emmeline’s commitment and contribution to supporting students and new staff while she worked at Vancouver Coastal Health for many years. Outside of work, Emmeline thrives on being outdoors. You can find her hiking, jogging, snowshoeing, travelling, and photographing scenic areas.

Grace Fong

Type: Occupational Therapists

After completing her undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia, Grace attended Queen’s University where she acquired her Master’s in Occupational Therapy.  Grace specializes in cognitive rehab, coaching, assistive technology, return to work, and home and community re-integration. She takes a special interest in low vision rehab and incorporating interdisciplinary collaboration into her work.  When she’s not at work, she enjoys baking, hiking and biking.

Kevin Chu

Kevin completed his undergraduate degree at The University of British Columbia and received his Bachelor of Kinesiology. Kevin has experience working as a Kinesiologist and personal trainer for clinical and aging populations. He is a life-long learner and strives for continuing education to sharpen his skills in helping clients. Kevin also believes that the key to health and wellness is the ability to move freely and confidently. Through individualized exercise prescription and education, Kevin is determined to help clients achieve their goals. Kris Kent

Kris received his undergraduate degree from McMaster University where he majored in Biology. Upon graduation he pursued his passion for helping others through volunteering in Asia and Central America alongside various humanitarian organizations. Kris earned his Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia and has experience working on a multidisciplinary team helping clients with head injuries, traumatic psychological injuries, and chronic pain, overcome physical and psychosocial barriers to return to work. Kris is motivated in helping clients recognize their rehab potential and returning to meaningful occupations in all parts of their lives. When he is not working, you’ll likely find Kris cooking at home, running along the seawall, or hiking one of the local mountains.

Lindsay Bolkowy

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Lindsay graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of the Fraser Valley. Lindsay enjoys creating personalized programs for her clients based on their injuries and rehabilitation needs, as well as providing education on muscles surrounding injured areas and their functional purpose. Lindsay is passionate about ice hockey and plays competitively.  She also enjoys playing ball hockey, skiing and traveling.

Lindsay has clinical placement experience working in orthopaedics, return to work rehabilitation, mental health and brain injury rehabilitation. Lindsay is particularly interested in mental health and is passionate about promoting the well-being of her clients. Maia Gallant

Type: Rehab Assistants & Kinesiologists

Maia graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Simon Fraser University. As well, she obtained her Masters of Science in Global Health and Public Policy from the University of Edinburgh. Prior to joining the JR team in January 2017, Maia gained experience working in the active rehabilitation community, as well as helping clients reached their personal health and fitness goal through various contract positions. Her work has also included community health programs to engage older adults in their own physical activity and minimize isolation. When not working, Maia enjoys cooking, gardening, snowboarding, cycling, swimming and training for triathlons.

Rebecca Izen

Rebecca received her undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia where she majored in Kinesiology with a secondary focus in Family Studies. Upon graduation she pursued her passion for helping individuals with disabilities and she returned to UBC to earn a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy. Rebecca has worked with a variety of individuals of all ages with both physical and mental health difficulties, from aiding school-aged children with learning disabilities, to reintegrating individuals back into their communities. In her free time Rebecca is passionate about staying active. She participates in many team sports and always enjoys taking walks around the Seawall with her dog Franky. Rebecca deeply values staying connected with her family, and especially loves spending quality time with her young nephews. Being born and raised in Vancouver, Rebecca is sincerely committed to the well being of her city, community, and the people who live in it.
